Travellers often don't realize you need a visa for Vietnam. Try to get it early, if not you can pay for corrupt officials to expedite your application but it's often a few hundred USD.
It can be a headache to get to train street in Hanoi, keep trying. Theirs always a cop looking away if you pick your moment.

Spend a few days in Siem Reap (Angkor Wat) Theirs an insane amount to see so take it slow.
