Israeli border security is fierce. Many travelers are fine, but if you're solo it's likely you will be searched and questioned for hours. Leave extra time.

Cross into Bethlehem on foot and get a day trip with any taxi drivers. First and foremost they want you to understand their circumstances.

Cross the Jordanian border if you plan to visit a long list of other Arab countries. Even though Israel does not stamp your passport, the Jordanian land border stamp will indicate you visited Israel - In Lebanon for example, this would get you arrested.

Rent a car in Israel then drive it into Palestine. The Israeli numberplate will get your car targeted.
